About this Site

When we began to organise our wedding in August 2005 we were astounded by the lack of information on the UK internet, and in magazines, about how to plan a wedding economically and ethically. We compiled such a random collection of interesting links that we thought it was a shame to waste them; and one rainy day in April '06 I put them all together and we published this site. It is the first site dedicated to helping you plan your own economical and eco-friendly wedding.

We believe that if you save money on some things, you can afford to splash out and shop ethically on others - Eg grow your own flowers, make your own cake, source your dress second-hand - and spend the profits on fair trade wine! The downside of focusing wholly on economies seems to be that it can take up more of your time; which may lead to more stress (but of course fine if you have the time on your hands).

The idea of this website is to reduce your eco-stress.

What is the future for eco-wedding.com? The site began as a not-for-profit venture, and we are committed to providing free information, but we also take appropriately 'ethical' advertising (and its labelled as such) - because hey - it's good to spread the word!
