getting married shouldn't cost the earth

Welcome! We are the first UK website dedicated to helping you plan your own economical and eco-friendly wedding.

Why 'eco-wedding'?
Perhaps you'd just like an alternative to the wedding culture that seems to prevail. Everyone tells you the most expensive weddings aren't necessarily the best they have ever been to - so exactly just how do you achieve that ? And sometimes no matter how much you try to keep the costs down, many of us will never spend such a lot of money on a single event ever again. We want to make the right choices; to ensure our money is spent effectively, and ethically.

How can I have an eco-wedding?
There are many ways you can make a difference. From growing your own flowers, choosing local food and drink suppliers, or even bussing all your guests in to your romantic hideaway on a horse and trap. Ok the last idea may be a little impractical in the English weather; but think what you can do with a little imagination!

Will it be more stressful?
No! People will tell you that this is the most important day of your life. We agree that it might be, but living up to this idea of perfection is - let's face it now - impossible. We say DITCH the demands of perfection and REPLACE with a calm and realistic approach. That way, you can guarantee you'll enjoy it (and then, of course, it will be perfect!!). You might think that sourcing eco-friendly suppliers and working to a tight budget is too demanding at this busy time, but it really doesn't have to be. This is your chance to be creative - and this site is here to help. Getting married left us with a big green glow; and we want to spread the word!

How do I contribute / advertise?
We will always keep the advice and key links free of charge, but interest in the site is booming and if you'd like to advertise your eco-friendly or economical products and services here please contact us. Or, if you have a tip, want to recount your own experience, or suggest a new link we'd love to hear from you. We make links to sites we like; and we will update regularly as we come across more hints and cool stuff; so bookmark us and come back soon!

Our disclaimer: The authors are in no way responsible for the success or otherwise of the
advice and links provided on this site, it is just advice and common sense is required to interpret it.
